3. How We Use Your Information

• Matching: We use your service type, location, and preferences to identify and notify qualified contractors in your area.
• Communication: We send SMS and email notifications only in accordance with your communication preferences and applicable consent.
• Customer Privacy: Customer contact information is generally disclosed only to contractors who accept a service request, except where a customer voluntarily chooses to contact a provider directly through platform features. Before acceptance, contractors see only the service type, general area, and job description.
• Platform Operations: We use data to manage accounts, process requests, resolve disputes, and improve the platform.
• Safety and Fraud Prevention: We may use information to detect and prevent fraudulent activity or abuse.
• Legal Compliance: We retain and share information as required by applicable law.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• With Contractors: Once a contractor accepts a job, we share your contact information and service address so they can reach you directly to schedule and complete the work.
• Provider Contact Information: Contractor business information, including business name, phone number, service categories, service areas, and profile information, may be displayed to customers as part of platform functionality. Customers may choose to contact providers directly through available platform features.
• Service Providers: We use third-party providers including Supabase (data storage), Twilio (SMS), and Resend (email) to operate the platform. These providers access data only as needed to deliver their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Servlin, our users, or the public.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Contractor Privacy Disclaimer

Contractors (Service Providers) on Servlin are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Servlin, and we do not control how they operate. Once you submit a request and a Service Provider accepts it, we share your contact information and service address with that provider so they can complete the job. From that point, the Service Provider acts as an independent controller of your information and is responsible for how they store, use, retain, and disclose it. Servlin is not responsible for a Service Provider's handling of your information after it has been shared following lead acceptance. We encourage you to share only the information necessary to complete your service.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Local Storage

We use cookies and similar browser technologies to operate and improve the platform:

• Cookies: We use cookies for essential site functionality. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working.
• Session management: Authentication cookies and tokens keep you securely signed in and maintain your session as you move between pages.

SMS consent is used solely for communications related to Servlin services, including service requests, appointment coordination, provider communications, account notifications, and customer support.

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the platform and comply with legal obligations. Service request records are generally retained for 3 years. Contractor account data is retained for the duration of the account and up to 2 years after closure. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 12).

Even after you close your account or request deletion, we may retain certain records for as long as necessary for legitimate purposes, including legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, auditing, tax, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. We retain such records only for as long as needed for those purposes.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level security policies in our database. However, no system, method of electronic storage, or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely or absolutely secure. You provide and transmit your information at your own risk.
